Cold Laser Therapy

Like something Dr. McCoy would use, except 260 years earlier
Proven through two double blind studies, Erchonia's low level laser made history when it became the first to receive FDA approval for treatment of chronic pain.

Beams of Light
We use lasers to listen to our favorite music CDs, to measure distances, temperature, and speed. Even though Einstein was the first to talk about the idea of beams of light, our bodies have been using that same kind of energy to communicate since man was created. As documented in James L. Oschman's book Energy Medicine:The Scientific Basis, cells communicate to one another through coherent light.

Low Level Lasers
Low level lasers are different than the more publicized heat lasers that are used in many surgical procedures to cut, and cauterize tissue. Low level lasers do not have a thermal effect and are used to stimulate, rather than destroy tissue. These types of lasers have been in use for over 25 years and there has yet to be one recorded side effect. Low level laser studies have been done and have proven to be effective in many cases, but it was the Erchonia laser that made history by becoming the first low level laser in the world to gain FDA approval for the treatment of chronic neck and shoulder pain. This was proven through two double blind studies to prove the efficacy of the low level laser on chronic pain.

How Does it Work?
Low level lasers emit visible coherent light that is applied to affected area. Bundles of light energy pass through the dermal layers, and are received within the cell membrane by specific energy photo acceptors. The increase in intra-cellular energy results in altered cell membrane permeability, and physiological changes occur through the enzyme cascade to affect several biological processes. Within the injured musculoskeletal tissue, low level laser light initiates increased microcirculation, and enhanced tissue regeneration. The overall effects are decreased pain and inflammation, and increased range of motion.

Neurology Diplomate

In her quest for the best patient care possible, Dr. Robinson is in the process of obtaining her Neurology Diplomate. This is an extra degree that takes about four years to obtain. The purpose of this degree is to better understand the nervous system, and to delve deeper into each patient’s problem and to provide a unique perspective on their condition. It already has provided insight into may of her existing patient’s problems, and it helps with complex problems, and with patients whom normal chiropractic has not helped.

Computerized Range of Motion

When assessing how well the body is moving, range of motion is used. The most common technique used in doing this to “eyeball it”. This method is highly inaccurate. At Robinson Chiropractic Center we utilize the most technologically advanced equipment which includes our computerized range of motion. This allow for accurate analysis as well as providing object documentation that most insurance companies require to prove that patients need care (medical necessity).

Surface electromyography (SEMG)

SEMG is a test used to examine the electrical activity of your muscles. The harder your muscles contract, the more electrical activity there is in those muscles. The procedure is absolutely painless and usually takes less then ten minutes. As treating doctors, this test will enable us to objectively assess abnormal muscle activity associated with the spine. This SEMG exam will assist in locating the affected areas as well as accurately document the need for various therapies (medical necessity). The results of the SEMG exam, when coupled with other standard exams such as a physical exam and X-Ray finding provide us with a deeper insight into your condition and allow us to more specifically apply treatment.

X-Ray

An accurate record of your spine far outweighs the minimal risk. Chiropractic X-Rays will:

  • reveal pathologies and degeneration
  • show a history of your spinal stresses
  • visualize the location of spinal problems
  • confirm other examination findings
  • make your adjustments more precise
  • record structural and functional progress

We offer a natural approach to your health and use many techniques that reduce your X-ray Exposure. We only take X-Rays if we feel that they are absolutely necessary. We only take the necessary views to accurately analyze your problem. Our equipment are up-to-date and uses the latest technology and safety features. Government licensing and inspection assure correctly functioning equipment and proper safety procedures. We use high speed film and electronic timing that requires less exposure and shorter timing.
